Coy Flat Campground

Located 20 miles east of Springville, CA, near Camp Nelson via State Highway 190.  The campground has 19 single family units and 1 double family unit. Some units can accommodate recreational vehicles up to maximum length of 24 feet.  Sanitary facilities, potable water, tables, and BBQ stoves are provided.

Open from April 12 through October 27 dependent upon weather conditions.  Elevation is 5,000 feet.  Hiking trails pass through the nearby 4,666-acre Belknap Grove of giant sequoias.

The Middle Fork of the Tule River and Bear Creek are within a short walking or driving distance.  Fishing is available year around on the Tule River Drainage.  Consult the CA Department of Fish & Wildlife for specific regulations.  Supplies are available at Camp Nelson and Pierpoint Springs located within 2 miles of the campground.

General Information

Campfire permits are required for campfires, barbeques, and camp stoves. Permits are available at your local Ranger Station or online at Campfire Permit - Ready for Wildfire.

Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

  • Maximum RV length is 22 feet
  • Off-road vehicles are not permitted in the campground
  • Don't Move Firewood: Protect California's forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. For more information visit firewood.ca.gov.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $34 per night; Additional Holiday Fee: $2 per night
Double Site: $68 per night; Additional Holiday Fee: $4 per night

$34.00 for a single campsite, $68.00 for a double campsite.

Parking

There is an extra vehicle fee of $8.00/night on the 2nd vehicle in each single campsite and on the 3rd & 4th vehicle in any double campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the 1st vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the 1st and 2nd are considered to be one vehicle and the 3rd and 4th are also considered to be one vehicle. So the fee would be a single $8.00/night of stay for the 3rd/4th motorcycle.
