Skillman Campground

Skillman Campground is open to all users including equestrian, mountain bikers and OHV. It is located along Hwy 20. Some camp sites have corrals, hitching posts, and horse troughs. Immediately adjacent to the campground is the Pioneer Trail used by hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. The Burlington OHV trail system is close by. Skillman Campground is available for both RV and tent camping (however, there are NO RV hookups or amenities, size restrictions on RV may apply).

Water is for horses and is non-potable. There are corrals in sites 3,4, 7,9, 11 and 15 and a metal trough in site 2. Large rubbermade trough between sites 3&4, rubber trough in site 15.

May 22 - October 15

Normally facility operates Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Operation may change depending on weather conditions. Contact Tahoe National Forest for current information at (530)265-4531.

Directions

From Nevada City:   Drive 14 miles east on Hwy 20 toward Truckee. Turn right into Skillman and make a left at the first road to reach the campground.

From I-80:   Take Hwy 20 exit and drive 12 miles west toward Nevada City. Turn left into Skillman, make a left at the first road to reach the campground.
