Upper Little Truckee Campground

The Upper Little Truckee Campground is located on Highway 89, about 12 miles north of Truckee.  The campground is situated on the banks of the Little Truckee River, at an elevation of 6,200 feet. The campground offers single-family campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. A forest of lodgepole pine, aspen and juniper covers the area, offering partial shade.  A few sites overlook the river.  Fishing for rainbow and brown trout is a popular activity.  The surrounding area offers hiking and biking trails.

Federal Recreatonal Lands Passes are honored on all applicable fees.

Bears frequent the area; we recommend all food be kept in a bear container or hidden completely out of sight such as in the trunk of a car.  Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfire and charcoal fires may not be allowed.  Camping outside designated campsites is prohibited in this area.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $20 per night
Additional Vehicle Fee: $5 per vehicle per night
Group Site: $66 per night (25 people)

Directions

From either east or west bound Interstate 80, take exit 188 Truckee/Highway 89. Head north toward Sierraville. In approximately 12 miles, turn left into the campground.
