Skyline Divide Trailhead

Provides access to: Skyline Divide Trail 678 which accesses Mt Baker Wilderness.

Current Conditions
Trailhead inaccessible due to damage on Forest Service Road 37 at milepost 3.1.

General Information

Recreation Passes honored for day use fee payment: Digital Passes, Northwest Forest Pass, and Interagency Recreation Passes. Washington State Discover Pass is not valid at US Fee Sites. 

Skyline Divide Trail is open to hikers and llamas year round. Open to stock Aug. 1-Oct. 31. No campfires. Wilderness regulations apply in Mt. Baker Wilderness.

Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day
$30 per annual

Day use fee payment options: Scan & Pay on-site or display a valid Recreation Pass.  

*Suggestion: Download the recreation.gov app before your trip to have the ability to scan & pay digitally on-site.

Hours: This U.S. Department of Agriculture office is currently closed due to the lapse in Federal Government funding. The office will reopen once Congress restores funding.

Directions

Road 37 is closed at mile 3.1 due to flood damage in 2021. There is not an estimated repair date. From Glacier travel east on The Mt. Baker Highway 542 for approximately 1 mile past the Glacier Public Service Center to Glacier Creek Road #39. Turn right onto Road #39, then take an immediate left onto Deadhorse Road #37. Travel 12.7 miles to the trailhead and parking area located at the end of the road.
