McKenzie River Trailhead: Tamolitch Blue Pool
This trailhead provides access to:
- McKenzie River National Recreation Trail #3507
- Tamolitch Falls (Blue Pool)
This trailhead experiences heavy use, particularly during the spring/summer months. Please plan your visit accordingly and arrive early or late in the day when there is less traffic.
Tamolitch Blue Pool can also be accessed from Carmen Smith Reservoir and hiking south along the McKenzie River Trail #3507

Day use only: open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
No fees are required for this site
Within developed recreation sites, dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet, or otherwise under physical restrictive control. 36 CFR 261.16(j)

Directions
From Highway 126: From the McKenzie River Ranger Station, take Highway 126 east 10 miles to Trail Bridge Reservoir. Turn left on Forest Service Road (FSR) 730 (at the sign to Trail Bridge Reservoir). Cross the river and turn right on FSR 2672-655, travel ½ mile to parking area. Walk slightly uphill up the road to trailhead sign, begin walking upstream.
Tamolitch Falls/Blue Pool can also be accessed from Carmen Smith Reservoir and hiking south along the McKenzie River Trail #3507.
Parking
If the parking lot is full, do not park along Highway 126 or in front of EWEB facilities and access points.
