Todd Lake Recreation Area

Visitors to Todd Lake Recreation Area enjoy a historic campground complete with a wheelchair accessible beach. A children’s playground, plenty of open fields, grills, and picnic tables make this location an ideal place to spend a relaxing summer afternoon. Explore multiple trails from this location popular among mountain biking, backpacking, and hiking enthusiasts.

This campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

General Information

Open Season: Mid-May to Late-October, Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

The America the Beautiful Senior and Access Pass provides a 50% discount to the base campsite fee (not hook ups) and the day use fee. No other America the Beautiful Interagency passes are valid at this site. The George Washington & Jefferson National Forests Seasonal Day Use Pass is accepted here and covers day use fees. 

Not suitable for large RVs. Dump station is available. Showers available for Todd Lake campers only. Campsites are limited to one RV or two tents, no more than two vehicles, and no more than eight persons per site.

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $20 per night

Day use is $8 per vehicle up to 8 passengers and $2 per person for vans and buses carrying more than 8 passengers and walk-ins. $20 per campsite per night.

Please, keep your pet on a leash when in a recreation area or campground. The law requires dog owners to keep their dog on a leash with a length no greater than 6 feet and under physical control when within a recreational area, such as a campground or day use area (36 CFR 2616(j)).

Directions

From Harrisonburg, VA:  Travel south on State Route (SR) 42 passing through the town of Bridgewater.  Continue for 3.2 miles to the intersection of SR 42 and 809/747 (at sharp left-hand turn).  Turn right onto SR 809/747 and continue for 3.4 miles to a four-way stop sign in the town of Mt. Solon.  Continue straight on SR 747 (Freemason Run Road) for 2.3 miles to a three-way stop sign.  Continue straight on SR 747 (Freemason Run Road) for 1.0 miles to the intersection with SR 730 (Stokesville Road).  Continue straight on SR 730 (Stokesville Road) for 1.3 miles to the intersection with SR 730 (North River Road.  Continue straight on Route SR 718 (Stokesville Road) for 1.1 miles to the intersection of FR 95 and FR 101.  Turn left onto FR 95 and travel 3.1 miles to Todd Lake Recreation Area on the right.
