White Oak and Wood Chuck Trails

These short nature trails are located in the Float Camp Recreation Area and provide excellent opportunities for enjoying nature.

Woodchuck Trail is a ÂĽ mile trail that starts in the campground and connects to the White Oak Trail.

The White Oak trail is a 1.41 mile loop originating at Float Camp Picnic Area's parking lot. This trail is a loop, there are a number of tree identification signs along the trail that name some of the common tree species you’ll see in the Ozarks. It’s a fairly wide and relatively flat trail, there are a series of small rolling hills but no major changes in grade.

Camping is available at Float Camp Recreation Area campground.

  • No motorized vehicles, or horses/bikes are permitted.

At the Trailheads

  • Dogs must be on a 6 foot leash in the day use area
  • Fireworks are prohibited.

From US Highway 160 in Doniphon, MO

  • Take Highway Y heading north for approximately 4 miles.
  • Turn left on FR 3210 and drive .25 to a fork in the road. Left fork takes you to the campground, right fork takes you to the day use.
