Williwaw Campground

Williwaw is the largest of the two campgrounds in Portage Valley with 60 sites. It accommodates RVs. It is located about one mile from the popular Begich, Boggs Visitor Center.

Reservations

Make Reservations Here

Visit Recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777 (overseas: 518-885-3639) to check availability and make a reservation. Cabin reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance.

Reservations made on Recreation.gov are non-transferable through a third party to prevent abuse, and unauthorized sale and resale. If necessary, work through Recreation.gov to adjust reservations. Contact the Glacier Ranger District office for questions regarding location-specific policy. 

If you cannot use your reservation, please modify or cancel your reservation to make space for others.

Please note that half of the sites are first-come first-served.

General Information

Near a salmon viewing platform and the Begich, Boggs Visitor Center.

Late spring to early fall

Campgrounds are generally available mid-May to September 30th. During the off-season there is no water, no trash service, and no fees.  Please pack out all garbage. Outhouse/toilet facilities may be unavailable.

Single Sites: $23

Double Sites: $33

Be aware that Recreation.gov will add a booking fee to the camping fee.
