Inyo, Sequoia and Sierra National Forests Land Management Plans Revision

The US Forest Service is seeking comments on the draft land management plans (forest plans) and draft environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Inyo, Sequoia and Sierra National Forests. The 90-day comment period begins with publication of a Notice of Availability in the Federal Register. We are revising the plans because economic, social, and ecological conditions have changed since they were written; new laws, regulations and policies are in place; and new information based on monitoring and scientific research is now available. Together the forests manage nearly 4.6 million acres of national forest system lands in the southern Sierra Nevada of California and parts of western Nevada. We are hosting public meetings during the comment period. For more information contact the Planning Team Leader, 707-562-9121.
