Air Program Biogeochemistry Lab

Picture of water lab testing equipment.

Our laboratory has been jointly operated by the US Forest Service and the US Geological Survey since 1987. We specialize in analyzing dilute lake and stream water, sediment, and passive ozone filters. The laboratory is staffed by experienced technicians and is equipped with high-quality automated analysis systems. Analyses performed and data generated are carefully reviewed in accordance with QA/QC procedures established by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the American Society for Testing and Materials. Reliability of data, strict adherence to QA/QC protocols and lab procedures, and prompt service are the primary goals of the laboratory personnel.

Laboratory services are available for Forest Service field units and research projects, as well as agency partners and cooperators seeking to analyze surface water chemistry on the national forests. Contact Louise O'Deen at the Air Program Laboratory for more technical information, water testing prices, and forms.
