Marten Creek Campground Temporary Closure
The Marten Creek Campground on the Cabinet Creek Ranger District will be closed starting next Monday, September 8th for much needed updates. Updates include road maintenance, installation of new fire rings and bear proof storage boxes, and the addition of new sites.

Spruce Fire Road Closure
Due to the Spruce and Spruce Ridge Fires on the Three Rivers Ranger District, a closure order is now in effect for National Forest System Roads #473 and #604.

Ulm Creek Fire Closure
The purpose of this order is for public and firefighter safety due to wildfire activity in the Ulm Creek area and prohibits all methods of travel (i.e. foot, mechanized, motorized, and stock) on NFS lands, roads, and trails within the described area.

Ransome Fire Road Closure
Due to the Ransome Fire on the Libby Ranger District, a closure order is now in effect for National Forest System Roads in the Pipe Bull Creek area, Lindy Peak area, and Little Tom Mountain area.

South Meadow Creek Fire Closure
Due to the South Meadow Creek Fire, a closure order is now in effect for National Forest System Roads #524 and #5961, starting at the junction of the two roads to their respective ending points.

Engle Lake Trail #932 and Area Closure
A closure order is now in effect for Engle Lake Trail #932, #932A, #926 and Engle Lake Area to provide for public safety for potential bear activity due to the presence of a horse carcass near the trail. For more information, please call the Cabinet Ranger District at 406-827-3533.

Kootenai Rails Trail Closure
A portion of the Kootenai Rails Trail (NFS Trail #255) on the Rexford Ranger District is now temporarily closed during construction activities on the Tobacco River Bridge, which is over the trail, and to protect the public on the trail from potential debris impacts.

Road & Trail Closure for Vermilion River Restoration Activities
A road and trail closure is now in effect on the Cabinet Ranger District while river restoration and construction activities take place in the Vermillion River.

Ross Creek Cedars Road and Trail Closure
The Ross Creek Cedars Nature Trail on the Three Rivers Ranger District will be undergoing much needed improvements and closed for the majority of the 2025 season. The closure start date is May 1st and anticipated to last until September 2025.
