A complete Fire Regime Synthesis for mixed dwarf sagebrush communities has not yet been published in the Fire Effects Information System. However, information is available from LANDFIRE succession modeling of mixed dwarf sagebrush Biophysical Settings (BpS). Table 1 summarizes LANDFIRE data for mixed dwarf sagebrush BpSs, figure 1 shows where they occur, and table 2 lists shrub species commonly dominant in dwarf sagebrush communities. Appendix A lists the mixed dwarf sagebrush BpSs and provides results of LANDFIRE succession modeling and links to descriptions for each BpS. The Pacific Southwest Research Station, Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture [3] provides a review and synthesis of the historical range of variability of sagebrush communities in California.

Table 1—Range of modeled historical mean fire intervals and percentage of historical fires in each of three fire severity classes for mixed dwarf sagebrush Biophysical Settings (BpS), and the number of these BpSs in each fire regime group [2]. See Appendix A for details specific to each BpS.
