Contracting Opportunities

We've made important changes affecting the way the Forest Service does business with its contractors and vendors. These changes affect the way solicitation and award information is made available for review, provide a faster method of payment, and reflect an overall greater dependence on the Internet and electronic methods of doing business.

The Federal Acquisition Regulations now require all contractors to be registered in the General Services Administration System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of any contract or agreement.

The first step in registering to do business with the Government is to obtain a DUNS number at:  Enter your business name, city, and state to start the registration process.

Once you have your DUNS number, you’re ready to visit SAM.

Here are some tips on registering at SAM and Becoming a Federal Contractor

SAM is the Official U.S. Government system that consolidated the capabilities of CCR/FedReg, ORCA, and EPLS.  There is NO fee to register for this site.  Entities may register at no cost directly from this page. To register, go to System for Award Management. User guides and webinars are available on the website.  Note, there are two steps to this process… first, you will create a user account… then, you’ll register your business with SAM.
