High Honors in Region 9

Contributed by Cindy White

TEAMS Archaeologist Amanda Campbell has been named along with Midewin National Tall Grass staff as recipients of a Eastern Region Honor award for the following: “Applying Knowledge Globally".

This award recognizes Forest Service individuals, work units, partnerships, or groups whose sustained research productivity has had a major impact on the advancement of science and the development and application of technology.

The nominated achievement must demonstrate the value and dissemination of scientific knowledge to internal or external groups or partners. This award was associated with the heritage work TEAMS heritage group did to reintroduce bison to the Midewin Prairie. While Amanda was named as a recipient, she shares the honor with the rest of the heritage group who worked on this important project.

"Congratulations on your hard work, and consistent work on Midewin. We did some awesome things and it feels great to be a part of a project from beginning to end! Way to go!" - Amanda
