Sloway Campground

Sloway Campground is located off of Interstate 90, just 60 minutes west of Missoula, Montana and 15 minutes west of Superior, Montana. The paved campground has 27 sites total. There is water, vault toilets, trash services, picnic tables, fire rings, volleyball net, horseshoe pits, and Camp Hosts. The campground sits on the Clark Fork River in the shade of pines trees and has a primitive boat launch and an equestrian site. Be aware the campground receives a lot of noise from Interstate 90 and passing trains.
 

There are 27 campsites in total with 12 pull-through sites for vehicles longer than 35 feet. Sites 1 - 10 and 21 - 25 are reservable. Sites 11- 20 and 26 & 27 are first-come, first-serve. Reservations can be made at https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/10163053.

General Information

Sloway Campground is paved and has vault toilets, potable water, a Camp Host, and trash services. Each site has a parking space, picnic table, and fire ring.

The campground resides in the valley bottom surrounded by pine trees and the Clark Fork River to the south. The campground is flat and easily accessible from Interstate 90.

The campground is in close proximity to launch sites along the Clark Fork River, including the Alberton Gorge. The campground can accommodate small to medium groups recreating on the river or in the National Forest. The Sloway Campground is one of three full-service campgrounds located along Interstate 90 between Idaho and Missoula, Montana.

For information on passes please visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/r01/lolo/passes. Please note that only Senior and Access Passes can be used for camping fees. No other passes apply to expanded amenity fees such as camping. 

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $15 per night
Extra Vehicle Fee: $5 per additional vehicle(s) (after two vehicles)

First-come, first-serve sites can be paid by U.S. currency, check or through Scan & Pay on the Recreation.gov mobile app. The QR code is posted at the campground fee station. You must have the most recent recreation.gov mobile app. 

Dogs must be leashed at all times.

Directions

From I-90 take Exit 43 at Dry Creek. At the end of exit ramp, turn right and go 0.3 miles across the Clark Fork River to the stop sign. Turn left and go 3.2 miles to campground located on the left. Or take Exit 37 at Sloway. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and travel 2.8 miles east. The campground is on the right.

Parking

Day use parking in designated spots only. There is $5 fee for extra vehicles beyond the 2 allowed/campsite.

There is a day use area with picnic tables, a sand volleyball court with net and horseshoe pits. 

Horse/Pack Animal Information

Horse/Pack animals are allowed at this site.

There is an equestrian campsite with a corral and feed bins that is reservable on recreation.gov. This site includes a picnic table and fire ring.

Access to Clark Fork River for fishing.

Horse Camping Info

There is an equestrian campsite with a corral. There are no horse trails adjacent to the campground. 

Boating - Non-Motorized Info

There is access to the Clark Fork River via a hand carry launch site for canoes, kayaks, tubes and rafts.

Picnicking - Single Info

There are picnic tables located in the day use area.
