Pursuant to 16 United States Code (USC) § 551 and 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) § 261.50(a) and § 261.50(b), the following acts are prohibited within the Perimeter Trail area of the Ouray Ranger District of the Uncompahgre National Forest, Gunnison County, State of Colorado (the “Restricted Area”).
The Restricted Trail is located in the 6th Principal Meridian, in portions of T43N and T44N, R7W. The Restricted Trail is depicted on the attached map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A.
The purpose of this Order is to protect a bighorn sheep winter concentration area.
PROHIBITIONS:
1. Being on the Restricted Trail at any time between midnight December 1 through midnight April 15. 36 CFR § 261.55(a)
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
1. Any Federal, State, or local office, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR § 261(A).
This Order shall be in effect until rescinded or until April 15, 2026, whichever occurs first.

Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. 16 USC § 551 and 18 USC §§ 3559 and 3571.
