Ashley #147

The Ashley Trail #147 begins at Forest Service Road #506, Payne Mesa Road, and comes to an end on the northeast point of Ashley Ridge. The trail follows Ashley Ridge, descending gradually until it reaches its end point. Wright Creek can be seen below the trail in the west and East Basin is below it on the east.

From Montrose: Travel west on Highway 90 for approximately 23 miles to the intersection with Forest Service Road #402, Divide Road. Follow FSR #402 for approximately 11 miles to FSR #506, Payne Mesa Road. Turn north on FSR #506 and continue for approximately 5 miles. The trail access is on the west side of the road.
