Bear Creek #415

The Bear Creek Trail # 415 begins at the Deadman Gulch Trail #420 and ends at the Flag Creek Trail #422. It follows Bear Creek for most of the southern portion, climbing from 9,880 feet to 11,080 feet where it intersects the West Flag Road, FSR #744.3C in about 3.2 miles. Follow FSR 744.3C for about 0.6 miles to the upper end of the Bear Creek Trail. It then drops into a drainage and follow it for about 2.2 miles gradually descending to 10,780 feet where it ends at an intersection with the Flag Creek Trail #422.

Deadman Gulch TH:

From Crested Butte: Follow Hwy 135 south for approximately 6.5 miles to the intersection with Cement Creek Road, which becomes Forest Service Road #740 at the National Forest Boundary. Follow FSR #740 for approximately 6.9 miles to the Deadman Gulch Trail Trailhead. Follow the Deadman Gulch Trail #420 for approximately 4 miles to the intersection with the Bear Creek Trail.

Flag Creek Trail Access:

From Crested Butte: Follow Hwy 135 south for approximately 6.5 miles to the intersection with Cement Creek Road, which becomes Forest Service Road #740 at the National Forest Boundary. Follow FSR #740 for approximately 2 miles to the intersection with the Italian Creek Road, FSR 759. Follow FSR 759 for Approximately 3.75 miles to the beginning of the Flag Creek Trail #422. Follow the Flag Creek Trail for approximately 3 miles to the intersection with the Bear Creek Trail #415.
