Black Pine #647
The Black Pine Trail #647 is located on the Fruita Division, south of Glade Park. The southern trailhead's access is off Eighteen Mile Road to Enoch's Lake and intersects with other trails on the Fruita Division. The trail maintained for a moderate level of difficulty. From the trailhead to the Black Pine Reservoir has a few easy hills and offers access to fishing and additional trails in a open aspen/coniferous forest. Continuing past the reservoir the trail narrows in the canyon and begins a moderate switchback climb up the hill. After the switchbacks, the trail becomes steeper as it ascends toward the turnaround at the junction with the Ridge Trail #646.

EASTERN ACCESS:
From Grand Junction CO, follow State Hwy 340 for approximately 0.7 miles to the intersection with Monument Road (a fee may be required). Turn left onto Monument Road a travel approximately 7.3 miles to the intersection with Mesa County D S Road. Turn Left onto D S Road and continue to the Glade Park Store. From the Glade Park Store, turn left onto Mesa County 16 5/10 Road and continue south for approximately 7.7 miles, past the Mud Spring Campground, to the intersection with Mesa County J S Road. Turn left onto J S Road and continue for approximately 1.7 miles to the intersection with Mesa County 18 Mile Road. Turn right onto 18 Mile Road and continue past Enoch Lake and the Ridge Trail #646 parking area. Follow 18 Mile Rd. for approximately 5 miles where you will find a pull-out on the right which provides parking. Continue on to the Southwest another 1/3 mile to reach the Black Pine Trailhead, high clearance vehicles are recommended.
WESTERN ACCESS:
From Grand Junction CO, follow State Hwy 340 for approximately 0.7 miles to the intersection with Monument Road (a fee may be required). Turn left onto Monument Road a travel approximately 7.3 miles to the intersection with Mesa County Road D S. Turn Left onto D S Road and continue to the Glade Park Store. From the Glade Park Store, turn left onto Mesa County Road 16 5/10 and continue south for approximately 9.5 miles, past the Mud Spring Campground, to the National Forest Boundary. At the boundary, County Road 16 5/10 turn into Forest Service Road 400. Follow FSR 400 for approximately 4 miles to a fork in the road, stay to the left and follow the road for approximately 0.25 miles to the Ridge Trail #646 Western Trailhead. Follow the Ridge Trail for approximately 1.5 miles to the junction with the Black Pine Trail #647.
