Bucktail Creek #659

The Bucktail Creek Trail #659 begins at Forest Service Road #604.1A and ends at the National Forest Boundary.  The trail descends into a draw and crosses west/southwest above the Big Bucktail Creek drainage.  It follows along above the creek and after about 3.3 miles it intersects the Bucktail Creek Spur Trail #659.1A. Continue south on the Bucktail Creek trail for another 1.2 miles were it terminates at the forest boundary or turn west on the Bucktail Creek Spur Trail which ends at FSR #503.

Directions

From Montrose: Travel west on Highway 90 for approximately 23 miles to the intersection with Forest Service Road #402, Divide Road. Follow FSR #402 for approximately 16.5 miles to FSR #503. Turn south onto FSR #503, Delta-Nucla Road, and continue for approximately 7.7 miles to the intersection with FSR #603. Turn south onto FSR #603 and continue for approximately 0.6 miles to FSR #604. Follow FSR #604 for approximately 2.5 miles to the intersection with FSR #604.1A. The trail access is about 0.3 miles up FSR 604.1A on the north side of the road.
