Dave Wood Interpretive Hike #115.1A

The Dave Wood Interpretive Trail #115.1A begins at the Simms Mesa/Dave Wood Trailhead at the National Forest Boundary and ends at an intersection with the Simms Mesa Trail #115. This trail wanders through a pine forest, beckoning the hiker to explore. To the casual observer, there is just the forest, the path, and the sky. To the careful observer, however, there is evidence of multiple ecosystems, traces of past life that swam in an ancient sea, plants that actually communicate with each other, and traces of history that shaped our lives. The Simms Mesa Loop Connector Trail #115.1A1 has interpretive stations 5-9 along it and is part of the interpretive area.  Interpretive Trail Guide
