East Unaweep #612

The East Unaweep Trail #612 begins at an intersection with the Basin Trail #603 and ends at an intersection with the Little Bear Lake Trail #660. This trail travels through a canyon climbing gradually up to Little Bear Lake. This is a well-used trail and easy to follow as it passes through aspen, ponderosa pine, and spruce/fir. The climb is gradual until the last stretch where it tops out on the mesa, here it becomes a little steeper and rocky. About a 5 miles loop can be accomplished by following the Little Bear Lake Trail south to the Basin Trail and the Basin Trail east to the beginning.
