Firebox #245
The Firebox Trail #245 begins at an intersection with the Alpine Trail and ends at Forest Service Road #864. The trail travels through the Firebox drainage, paralleling Firebox Creek for its entire length. It also parallels Forest Service Road #864 until it intersects at a switchback in the road and comes to an end. This is a popular trail during big game hunting season.

Directions
Alpine/Little Cimarron Trailhead:
From Montrose, travel approximately 21 miles to the intersection with County Road 864, Little Cimarron Road. Turn south on CR 864 and continue for approximately 12.5 miles to the Trailhead on the right, CR 864 becomes FSR 864 at the forest boundary. Follow the Alpine Trail #225 east for approximately 0.6 miles, just past FSR #864, to the intersection with the Firebox Trail.
