High Mesa #133

The High Mesa Trail #133 begins at an intersection with the Alpine Trail #225 and ends at an intersection with the Little Cimarron Trail #229.  The trail begins on High Mesa at approximately 11,160 feet and descends to 11,000 feet. It then gradually descends down off High Mesa to an intersection with the Little Cimarron Trail and Little Cimarron River. This trail is popular during big game hunting season.

Directions

Alpine/Little Cimarron Trailhead:

From Montrose, travel approximately 21 miles to the intersection with County Road 864, Little Cimarron Road. Turn south on CR 864 and continue for approximately 12.5 miles to the Trailhead, CR 864 becomes FSR 864 at the forest boundary. Follow the Alpine Trail #225 for approximately 2 miles to the intersection with the High Mesa Trail.
