Jackson Guard Station #225.1A

The Jackson Guard Station Trail #225.1A begins at an intersection with the Alpine Trail #225 and ends at the Jackson Guard Station. This trail provides a loop hike by following the Alpine Trail to the Jackson Guard Station Trail and FSR #858 north to the parking area.  It begins at 9,600 feet and descends to 9,040 feet in about 0.7 miles.  The Jackson Guard Station is available for rent on the cabin rental system.

Directions

From Montrose, travel east on Highway 50 for approximately 21 miles to the intersection with County Road 858, Big Cimarron Road. Turn right and continue for approximately 18.6 miles to the Silver Jack Reservoir, CR 858 becomes Forest Service Road #858 at the forest boundary. Access to the Alpine Trail is 0.25 miles south of the reservoir. Parking is minimal so trucks with horse trailers should park at the pull out 0.25 miles further south. Follow the Alpine Trail #225 for approximately 0.8 miles to the intersection with the Jackson Guard Station Trail.
