Mount Sneffels #204
The Mt. Sneffels Trail #204 begins at an intersection with the Blue Lakes Trail and ends at an elevation of 12,960 feet, below the Summit. Follow the Blue Lakes Trail #201 for approximately 0.2 miles to where a cairn makes the intersection with the Mt. Sneffels Trail and stay to the right. The trail begins to ascend Mt. Sneffels, continues to a couloir that may be filled with snow. At this point the hike becomes climbing rather than hiking. Once the ridge is reached, follow it to the left to a large couloir full of boulders. Watch for a small couloir on the left, this will lead to another ridge line which will lead to the summit at 14,150 feet.

Blue Lakes Southern Trailhead:
From Ouray, travel south on Hwy 550 for approximately 0.3 miles to the intersection with County Road 361, Camp Bird Road. Turn right onto CR 361 and follow it for approximately 9.2 miles to its end, CR 361 becomes CR 26 and then Forest Service Road 853.1B before reaching the Trailhead. Follow the Blue Lakes Trail #201 for approximately 0.2 miles to the intersection with the Mt. Sneffels Trail.
