Sunshine #498
The Sunshine Trail #498 begins just south of the Sunshine Campground on Highway 145 and ends at an intersection with County Road 63J, Forest Service Road #623, which is also part of the Galloping Goose Trail #499. This trail heads west beginning a gradual descent which becomes steeper as it nears County Road 63L. In about a mile it crosses CR 63L and heads northwest where it will intersect the CR 63J in about another miles providing a connector route to the trails west of CR 63J.

Directions
Eastern Access:
From Telluride: Travel west on Highway 145 for approximately 3 miles to the first highway intersection. Turn south staying on Highway 145 and continue for approximately 5 miles to the trail access point.
Western Access:
From Telluride: Travel west on State Highway 145 for approximately 5.7 miles to County Road 63L, Ilium Road/South Fork Road. Turn south on to CR 63L and continue for about 2.5 miles to County Road 63J, veer right and continue south on this road. Follow CR 63J for approximately 2 miles to the trail beginning on the east side of the road.
