Vega Snowmobile #545

The Vega Snowmobile Trail #545 begins at the Vega State Park Trailhead, a State Park Pass is required to park at the trailhead, and ends at an intersection with the Sunlight to Powderhorn Trail (SP).  On the Sunlight to Powderhorn Trail Map the Vega Trail is #37. The trail runs south from Vega State Park crossing one mile of private land.  Please stay on the trail and respect the private land owners. The trail continues on Forest Service Road 262 in the Park Creek drainage through aspen into open meadows in Big Park. About half way through the meadow, the trail will intersect the SP Trail near Monument Creek. Because the trail is groomed and follows a road the entire length, it is suitable for all skill levels.  There are three creek crossings that are frozen and groomed over, but could be a concern in early December and late April.
