Rita Blanca National Grasslands

Within the short grass prairie of the southern Great Plains lie the Kiowa and Rita Blanca National Grasslands. These grasslands encompass approximately 230,000 acres in six counties within New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Closer to the communities of Clayton and Texline, the Rita Blanca National Grasslands are a refuge for visitors to slow down and enjoy the nature that surrounds them. Two picnic areas are popular stops for those traveling across the country in need of a reprieve.
