Lava Restoration Project
The Boise National Forest Supervisor has signed the Decision Notice for the Lava Restoration Project. The authorized activities address impacts from the 2024 Lava Fire by implementing hazard tree mitigation, salvage, reforestation/revegetation, recreation and access management, road/infrastructure maintenance/repairs, and range management activities. This project has been authorized under an Emergency Situation Determination and the Objection period has been waived.

The project is located along the northwestern boundary of the Boise National Forest and is about 50 miles north of Boise, Idaho on the west side of the Emmet Ranger District.
