Occupancy and Use
PROHIBITIONS:
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following acts are prohibited within the area described in this Order, all within the Kemmerer Ranger District, Bridger-Teton National Forest until further notice.
- Possessing or transporting any motor or mechanical device capable of propelling a watercraft through water by any means. 36 CFR 261.58(w).
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this Order:
Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Non-combustible motors or mechanical devices are exempt from this Order.
AREA DESCRIBED:
Lake Alice and all the area withinÂĽ mile of Lake Alice. (Sections 8, 9, 16 ,17, 19, and 20; Township 28 North, Range 117 West, 6th Principal Meridian, Wyoming).
The above-described area is within the proclaimed and administrative boundaries of the Kemmerer Ranger District, Bridger Teton National Forest, Lincoln County, Wyoming.
PURPOSE:
The use of internal combustion engines is prohibited on Lake Alice by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission and Forest Service to protect native fish populations. Lake Alice contains a Conservation Population of genetically pure Bonneville cutthroat trout that are a Forest Service Region 4 Sensitive Species and Wyoming Game and Fish Department Species of Concern.
IMPLEMENTATION:
This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until April 30, 2029 or until rescinded, whichever occurs first.
Any violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for individuals, and $10,000.00 for organizations and/or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC 3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC 3581 (b)(7)].
- Order supersedes any previous orders prohibiting the same acts covered by this Order.
