Occupancy and Use
PROHIBITIONS:
Pursuant to Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b) the following act is prohibited on the area, roads, and trails described in this Order, all within the Grey's River Ranger District, Bridger-Teton National Forest This closure consists of2 Areas, both closed from December 1 through April 30th.
- Possessing or using an over-snow vehicle off of National Forest System Roads in the area depicted on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit A. 36 CFR 261.56
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e) the following persons are exempt from this Order:
Persons with a permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.
Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Forest Road #10081 located within the closure area is open to snowmobile travel.
AREA DESCRIBED:
The closure consists of 2 Areas:
Area 1- National Forest System land within an area on the Star Valley Front from the Swift Creek Road # I 0211 to the bottom of Bradshaw Canyon located in Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 29, T32N, R118W and in Sections 21, 27, 28, 33, 34, T33N, R118W, 6th Principal Meridian. See attached map.
Area 2- National Forest System Land within an area including the Moose Creek drainage, a portion of the Deadman Creek drainage, and side drainages between those areas located in Sections 24, 25, 26, 35, and 36, T35N, R117W; Sections 29, 30, 31, and 32, T35 N, R116W; and Sections 1 and 2, T34 N, R117W; and Section 6, T34N, R116W; 6th Principal Meridian. The above described areas are within the proclaimed and administrative boundaries of the Greys River Ranger District, Bridger-Teton National Forest, Lincoln County, Wyoming.
PURPOSE:
These restrictions are necessary to protect wintering wildlife habitat from the disturbance caused by motorized over snow vehicles, to protect natural resources (physical and biological) and separate motorized and non-motorized recreation uses to minimize user conflicts.
IMPLEMENTATION:
This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until April 30, 2029 or rescinded, whichever occurs first.
Any violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for individuals, and $10,000.00 for organizations and/or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months. [Title 16 USC 551, Title 18 USC3571(b)(6), Title 18 USC3581 (b)(7)].
- Order supersedes any previous Orders prohibiting the same acts covered by this Order.
