Portal Forebay Campground

Located along Kaiser Pass Road at Portal Forebay Lake. Sites are shaded by pine and cedar trees and each campsite has a picnic table, grill and bear-proof food storage locker. Vault toilets are provided. Drinking water is not available. Paved and dirt roads provided access to the campground. Large RV's or motorhomes not recommended for travel on Kaiser Pass Road.

General Information

Nearest services are at Huntington Lake.  The High Sierra Ranger Station is approximately 3 miles past the campground.

Make sure you bring your mosquito repellent. This is Bear Country, please store food properly and Don't feed the bears.

Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount to Single Campsites ONLY. *The discount applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fee or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party.*

Single Site: $32 per night; Additional Holiday Fee: $2 per night
Double Site: $61 per night; Additional Holiday Fee: $4 per night
Additional Vehicle Fee: $10 per vehicle per night

Directions

Take Hwy 168 east from Clovis to Shaver Lake. Continue thru Shaver Lake to Huntington Lake. At east end of the Huntington Lake turn right on the Kaiser Pass Road (at Eastwood Visitor Center). Travel 13.6 miles northeast on the Kaiser Pass Road to Portal Forebay Campground.
