Sample Meadow Campground

Located near the Kaiser and Ansel Adams Wilderness, Sample Meadow Campground offers 16 campsites along Kaiser Creek. 

  • Vault toilets available. Water and garbage service not provided.
  • Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and bear box.
  • Trailhead parking outside of campground, about .5 mile for hikes into the wilderness.
  • Large RVs and motorhomes not recommended.
  • Horse camping is permitted. 

General Information

Water not available at campground. Nearest services (gas, groceries, supplies) at Huntington Lake, aabout 13 miles before campground.

This is Bear Country. Bear boxes available. Please store food properly. Don't feed the bears. 

This is a "Pack it in, Pack it out" facility.  Please take your garbage with you when you leave.

Directions

From Hwy 168 in Huntington Lake, turn right on Kaiser Pass Road (Forest Road 5S80).

Travel 9.7 miles, take left on road 7S05 and travel 3 miles to the campground.
