The project area is located in the state of Washington on the Tonasket Ranger District east of Oroville, north of Wauconda and north of Bonaparte and south of the United States border with Canada (figure 1). Special features include the Mount Bonaparte and Jackson Creek Inventoried Roadless Areas.
