Bear Pasture Trailhead

This trailhead lies adjacent to the Salmo-Priest Wilderness area and provides a portal to the east end of the Crowell Ridge Trail #515 which provides high elevation hiking with spectacular views.  The parking area provides room for up to six vehicles.  

NOTE:  NFS Road 2012200 provides access to this trailhead, but it is only open from April 1 to August 14 each year.  The trailhead is not accessible until Mid May. The last two miles of the road are extremely rough and are not recommended for low clearance vehicles.

Wilderness use restrictions apply. Certified weed-free hay or certified weed-free hay pellets are required on National Forest lands (processed grains are okay). Motorized or mechanical equipment, including chainsaw, bike, motorcycle, hang glider or cart use prohibited in all wilderness areas. Food and wildlife attractants must be properly stored at all times.

Directions

From Metaline Falls, WA:  Head northeast on Grandview St toward International Selkirk Loop N/Lehigh Ave. Turn right onto WA-31 N/International Selkirk Loop N/Lehigh Ave continue for 2.1 miles. Turn right onto Sullivan Lake Rd continue for 4.8 miles. Turn left onto NF-22/Sullivan Creek Rd continue for 5.3 miles. Slight left onto NF-2220/Sullivan Creek Rd continue for 2.2 miles. Turn left onto NF-2212 continue for 4.4 miles. Turn right onto NF-200 continue for 6.5 miles destination will be on the right. Road is only open from April 1 to August 14.  Road is NOT recommended for horse trailers.
