Big Tree #311

The trail begins across from the Lost Lake Campground entrance and travels 1 mile from Lost Lake Campground to the Big Tree Botanical Area Interpretive Site, then continues 0.7 mile around the loop at the Big Tree Trail Interpretive Site where the trail highlights two 900 year old Western Larch trees with a couple of benches to take in the surrounding Western Larch and other conifer species.

Getting There

Directions

From Tonasket, take State Rt. 20 east for 24 miles to County Rd. 4953 (Bonaparte Recreation Area). Take County Rd. 4953 5.5 mile where it turns into Forest Service Road #32. Continue on Forest Service Road #32 three miles to the junction with Forest Service Road #33. Drive Forest Service Road #33 6 miles to the junction with the Forest Service Road #3300-050. Take the FS #3300-050 left for 0.2 mile to the Lost Lake Campground entrance. The trail takes off across from the old Lost Lake Guard Station just inside the Lost Lake Campground entrance.
