Trail ascends to the base of Schalow Mt. as it travels up an open, rocky hillside. The trail contours around the hillside above Conconully Lake affording a great view of the surrounding mountains and the lake. During the hot dry summer days, be aware of the potential for rattlesnakes.

From C o n c o n u l l y, drive north on Main Street to County Road #4015 on the right. Travel on County Road #4015 for about 5 miles to Sugarloaf Campground. The trail takes off from across the campground entrance.
