Smith Lake

This area has not been logged out since the Crater Creek fire.

Remote, high mountain lake accessible by hike-in only from the Iron Gate Trailhead on the Boundary Trail #533 to Smith Lake Trail #533.2 finally arriving at Smith Lake.

Current Conditions
The #3900-500 road is maintained for high clearance vehicles only and is not recommended for passenger cars.

General Information

Washington state fishing license required. See Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife at http://wdfw.wa.gov/ for more information. Wilderness use restrictions apply. Certified weed-free hay or certified weed-free hay pellets are required on National Forest lands (processed grains are okay). Motorized or mechanical equipment, including chainsaw, bike, motorcycle, hang glider or cart use prohibited in all wilderness areas. Food and wildlife attractants must be properly stored at all times.

Northwest Forest pass or $5 per vehicle per day. Day use fees waved with Senior Pass, Access Pass, and Military Federal Pass holders.
