Smith Lake #533.2

This easy 1 mile Pasayten Wilderness trail travels off of the Boundary Trail #533 to the 6 miles from the Irongate Trailhead. The Smith Lake Trail #533.2 travels through a combination of subalpine larch, Engelmann spruce, and subalpine fir and open wildflower meadows to Smith Lake. Great views of Horseshoe, Armstrong, and Arnold Mountains can be seen along the route.

Current Conditions
The #3900-500 road is maintained for high clearance vehicles only and is not recommended for passenger cars.

General Information

Wilderness use restrictions apply. Certified weed-free hay or certified weed-free hay pellets are required on National Forest lands (processed grains are okay). Motorized or mechanical equipment, including chainsaw, bike, motorcycle, hang glider or cart use prohibited in all wilderness areas. Food and wildlife attractants must be properly stored at all times.

Northwest Forest pass or $5 per vehicle per day. Day use fees waved with Senior Pass, Access Pass, and Military Federal Pass holders.
