The trail follows Forest Service road 530 for approximately 5 miles. The trail connects to routes to Ione from the Little Pend Oreille Lakes recreation area. Winter travelers will discover picturesque mountains, valleys, and streams. Limited maintenance in off-season.

Directions
From Colville, WA: Head north on N Maple St toward E 2nd Ave 0.1 miles. Turn right at the 2nd cross street onto WA-20 E/E 3rd Ave continue to follow WA-20 E 25.5 miles. Turn left onto Thomas Mountain Rd 1.0 miles. Turn right onto NF-550 for 3.5 miles.
