Ward Lake
Ward Lake consists of two small lakes surrounded by a peaceful wetland totaling 7 acres and reaches 3,625’ elevation. This area is very quiet and picturesque surrounded by wetlands and cattails. Spring angeling is good for eastern brook trout. Waterfowl are abundant on this small lake, you can hear and see them throughout the day. Ward lake is located 9.5 miles North of Republic, Washington.
General Information
Ward Lake does not have any amenities, though one can find a rustic place or two for tent camping. Dispersed camping locations can be found on the north end of the lake.
According to Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, spring angling action is good for eastern brook trout if winterkill is not a problem. Shoreline access good though limited in some areas. Internal combustion engines are prohibited by Ferry County ordinance. Kayaks and non-motorized fishing vessels can be released into the water by utilizing the wooden plank boat dock. Two-pole fishing is allowed on this lake.
Wildlife viewing is excellent here as one can discover wild animals in a calm, tranquil location on the Colville National Forest. Other wildlife includes, eagles, songbirds and moose. Waterfowl are bountiful on these small lakes.

Directions
From Republic Ranger Station: Head north toward Delaware Ave. Turn left onto Delaware Ave and then right onto E Tessie Blvd. E Tessie Blvd turns left and becomes N Adams St. Turn right onto E Delaware Ave. Turn right at the first cross street onto N Portland St. Turn right onto Klondike Rd. Turn right onto N Klondike Rd and continue for 3.7 miles. Turn left onto Trout Creek Rd and continue for 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Rose Valley Rd. In 0.4 miles take slight left onto N Fork Trout Creek Rd and continue for 3.7 miles, then turn right and continue for 0.8 miles. Turn right onto Empire Lakes Rd for 1 mile.
