Haystack West Shore Campground and Day Use Area

This scenic, high desert campground and day use area is located on the western shore of Haystack Reservoir.  There is one fully accessible campsite as well as easy access from the Day Use parking area to the boat ramp.

Getting There

Directions

From Madras, Oregon:

Drive south on Highway 97.

Take Jericho Lane and proceed east for approximately  1 ¼  miles.

Turn right onto Springer Road (Forest Service Road 7130/ Forest Service Road 96) and proceed for approximately one-half mile.

West Shore Campground and Day Use Area will be on the left.

From Prineville, Oregon:

Drive north on Highway 26.

Take Laurel Lane (Forest Service Road 96) and proceed west for approximately 4 miles.

Turn right onto Springer Road (Forest Service Road 7130/ Forest Service Road 96) and continue for approximately 2 miles.

West Shore Campground and Day Use Area will be on the right.

Parking is available in the Day Use area

Potable water is not available at this site.

Picnic tables are available at this site.

There is one picnic table per campsite as well as a few picnic tables in the Day Use area
