Bee Rock Boat Ramp

Bee Rock Boat Ramp provides access to two very different paddling experiences on the Rockcastle River. The final section of the Rockcastle River begins at Bee Rock Boat Ramp and ends at Rockcastle Boat Ramp at the mouth of the river. Lake Cumberland inundates most of this section of the Rockcastle and this 7-mile flat water float downstream is perfect for beginners and families.

Upstream from the ramp, a 15.9-mile segment of the Rockcastle River that starts at KY 1956 (old Highway 80) bridge and ends near Bee Rock Boat Ramp is designated a Kentucky Wild River and includes one of the most challenging whitewater runs in Kentucky. It is a long stretch of water with several Class III and at least one Class IV rapid along the way. It should be attempted only by experienced, well-equipped paddlers. Plan on at least 8 hours for the trip.

Swimming or sunbathing within 100 feet of any boat launch ramp or courtesy boat dock is prohibited for public safety. The site has parking, visitor information, trash collection and security lighting.
