Scenic Drives

The Daniel Boone National Forest offers the perfect place for a driving excursion. With more than 600 miles of road, exploring the hills and hollers of eastern Kentucky has never been easier. Whether you are planning a full weekend road trip or have just a few hours to tour the Forest, the everchanging palette of the seasons means that there is always something new to see. Scenic drives on the Forest are an excellent opportunity to slow down and take it all in. Many Forest Service roads can be narrow and rocky rocky which are the perfect reminder to slow down and take it all in.

Scenic Driving

Some roads are specially designated as a scenic byway. The winding Red River Gorge National Scenic Byway and Zilpo National Forest Scenic Byway offer spectacular views of the Forest.
