Just for Kids
National forests are the perfect "outdoor classroom," where human activity and natural processes interact in a variety of fascinating ways. The goal of the Forest Service is to get more children outside so they may enjoy, stay healthy, and gain more knowledge about the natural world. This can instill awareness in young people who may develop an appreciation for public lands, pursue jobs in land management and natural resources, and engage in outdoor activities with enthusiasm.
