Survey and Manage: Species Specific Direction
Vascular Plants
Please also see the Interagency Special Status and Sensitive Species Program (ISSSSP) website for additional species information.
Some Survey and Manage species also have or had Sensitive species status or have information compiled by the Interagency Special Status and Sensitive Species Program (ISSSSP). Please navigate to the ISSSSP website, for survey protocols, field guides, inventory reports, and conservation planning documents (that provide habitat information, site management guidance, and more). These documents include the best available scientific information to utilize when applying the 2001 Survey and Manage standards and guidelines to determine survey needs and site management.
Please note that the most efficient way to have all available documents result from your query is to "Search By Taxonomy" and select Taxonomy Group "Vascular Plants – (All Species)" and then select Document Type "All Documents". Or if you are interested in one species, "Search by Species (Scientific)" and select Taxonomy Group "Vascular Plants – (All Species)", submit query. Then select the applicable species name. In addition, you should query "General: Multi-species – Vascular Plants (No Common Name)" to check if the species queried is included in a document with multiple species.

"Survey and Manage Strategy 2 species" are no longer applicable. The survey protocol is being included for inventory methodology only and should be applied to all Category A and C vascular plants. Survey triggers are superseded by the January 2001 Record of Decision, standards and guidelines section, page 22, Habitat-Disturbing Activities. Use Forest Service NRM TESP Plants data collections forms located at https://www.fs.usda.gov/r6/issssp/inventories/?protocols. |
