Comments: Polyporus anceps. Western red rot from an infected branch eventually enters the trunl. (A) rot extending about 0.2 of a foot into the tight knot. The central position of the longest colum suggest that the rot traveled more rapidly through the pith than in the knot wood. (B) Rot that followed the pith of the knot into the heartwood of the trunk and developed into heart rot. 5/54 Neg. sent to Wash. FS-475696
