| Comments: | Rio Grande Watershed. A canada bottom carpeted with dense stand of Panicum obtusum and agropyron smithii. Water lin eon grass, shrubs, etc. Shows that tremendous volumes of water spread over bottom of canada without cutting through. This type of cover is responsible for numberous wate holes along the canada. If this cover were depleted by overgrazing a vertical walled arroyo would result and the water holes would be lost (an important consideration). |
