Even though the Crossett Experimental Forest is primarily known for its contributions to the study of naturally regenerated southern pine forests, it did play an important role in parts of the early tree improvement programs in the southeastern US. In this picture, Hoy C. Grigsby scales a ladder to the crown of one of the best pine trees found on the Crossett Experimental Forest.
